Alhamdulillah the new moon has been sighted in San Diego, California and verified by the Scholars of HCC. Thus Sha’ban ends tonight, with the 1st fast of Ramadhan tomorrow, Tuesday, April 13th in sha Allah. Taraweeh will also commence tonight.

This Ramadhan, like last Ramdhan, is going to be very different than the previous years and thus is going to be a relatively new experience for everyone. With the limited capacity the masjid can accommodate due to the restrictions, Masjid-ut-Taqwa has given priority to the neighbours, regular musallees and those that requested in advance to attend taraweeh prayers. We are sorry we cannot accommodate everyone. We request everyone else to see if their local masjids can accommodate, and if not, to do their night ibadah and taraweeh at home.

May Allah keep us all healthy, allow us to fill our days with worship and good deeds, and allow us to attain His complete pleasure. May Allah SWT give us steadfastness in Ramadhan, accept our fasts, prayers, and all other forms of ‘ibaadah. May Allah SWT enable us to worship Him during the night of Qadr, and may he help us all continue with good deeds throughout the rest of the year. Ameen!
