Masjid-ut-Taqwa’s vision from an educational perspective is to develop and maintain a religiously vibrant, peaceful, tolerant, cross-community sharing, inclusive community by being a charitable Islamic organization that provides a comprehensive range of religious and social programs to the residents of Toronto and the surrounding areas in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Quran and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammadh (صلى الله عليه وسلم).
Weekly Islamic Class (Dars) in English
The weekly Dars are held at Masjid-ut-Taqwa, on Wednesdays and Thursdays after Maghrib prayers (in Summer months) and after Isha prayers (in Winter months). The classes are conducted by our esteemed Imam Shaykh Zakariya Patel, and are open for everyone to attend.
Sunday School
‘Inculcating Islamic values in our future generation’
Objective: The program aims to provide excellent Islamic education, in order to establish a strong foundation of the Islamic religion within each student, and equip them with the spiritual and intellectual abilities to face everyday challenges based on Islamic teachings.
Enrollment: The school operates every Sunday, on a weekly basis, with breaks during Ramadhan, Summer and Winter.
Students: The program is eligible for all students of school-age, beginning at the youngest age of 5 years.
Teacher(s): We have a team of qualified and experienced teachers to teach the various grade levels.
Full TIme Hifz
Objective: A Full-Time Hifz program that provides children with the opportunity to memorize the entire Qur’an with Thajweed, under the guidance of our qualified teachers. It is our hope that through this enriching program, children will foster true love for the Holy Scripture of Allah (I) and abide by its teachings.
Enrollment: The Full-Time Hifz school operates 4 days a week (Monday to Thursday) from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM with breaks for lunch and Zuhr prayer.
Students: The program is eligible for students of all ages who are able to read the Qur’an fluently.
Teacher(s): Currently, there is one full-time teacher—our esteemed Imam, Shaykh Zakariya Patel.
Secular Studies: The program does not offer grade-level studies; therefore, it is the parents’ responsibility to ensure that their child is registered with the school board for homeschooling.
